Custom Converse Chuck 70 Sneakers for Tyler, the Creator’s Chromakopia Album Rollout
Creative Direction | Product Design | Production | Event Collaboration
As part of the rollout for Tyler, the Creator’s Chromakopia album, my team at Converse SoHo designed, produced, and delivered an exclusive line of 450 custom Converse Chuck 70 sneakers. These shoes were tied to the promotion of Tyler’s album drop and massive tour announcement, blending art, music, and culture into a highly visual, limited-edition product. The shoes were sold at Tyler’s pop-up events, were announced by Tyler himself to millions of fans, and gained major traction across social media and sneaker news outlets.
The project had a quick turnaround, with Tyler’s announcement and pop-up events on the horizon. The goal was to produce 450 custom pairs in less than a week, ensuring each sneaker was meticulously crafted, printed, and shipped. The challenge was to balance speed with precision while maintaining the premium quality Converse is known for—especially under tight deadlines.
Along with my customization team, I designed, printed, and produced this limited-edition product.
Mocking Up Design Concepts: Using the provided design assets to mock up and test the design on the physical product to not only reflect the Chromakopia, but to create the model by which we would print the entire 450 pairs of sneakers.
Custom Design and Production: Managing the hands-on production of over 100 pairs of sneakers myself, ensuring they met Converse’s high standards and the INSANELY fast-paced timeline.
Event Collaboration: Coordinating the production of sneakers in line with quality control and shipping to Tyler’s pop-up events in Boston and NYC. These sneakers were sold exclusively at the events, tying directly into Tyler’s fan experience.
I personally oversaw the production of 100+ custom sneakers and collaborated with my team to finalize the remaining 350 pairs. We produced 300 pairs in just five days and the remaining 150 pairs in an additional three days.
The sneakers were a resounding success, sold at Tyler’s secret pop-up events across Boston and NYC. They were announced by Tyler to millions of fans across social media, with sneaker media outlets covering the release. The production process, though intense, was also successful, with all 450 pairs produced and distributed on time.
450 custom sneakers produced in under a week, with 100+ handcrafted personally by me.
Sold exclusively at pop-up events in two cities, reaching thousands of dedicated fans and sneakerheads.
Millions of views and social media mentions after Tyler announced the sneakers, amplifying the product’s cultural relevance and buzz.
This project stands as a prime example of my ability to deliver on high-pressure, time-sensitive designs that turn ideas into tangible products.
